Fontself: make, share & sell your own fonts from Photoshop & Illustrator

You guys are fast.

It took me 9 years to come up with Fontself for Photoshop & Illustrator, and you just needed 2 days to back 57% of the funding goal. Now, that's gonna change a few things (for the better I reassure you).

First, no more pasta, I'll be able to add rice to my diet =)

Second, I will probably be able to bring you more cool stuff than initially expected, so I will soon let you know about new features and ask you about priorities. 

So please keep sharing the love, tell your friends, colleagues, and neighbours about Fontself. Even on tomorrow's lunch, because - you know - there is nothing better than chatting with Aunt Maggie and Uncle Bob about calligraphy and hand painted signs on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

Hi everyone, just an update to tell you how much I am awed.

There are actually many more font freaks out there than I thought, and I really, REALLY, REAAAALLY appreciate all the support and positive feedback you sent over the last 24 hours.

Together, you reached more than 25% of the initial funding goal. In less than a day...

Obviously this pumps me up to the sky, but it's also a super powerful hats off to all the creative talents who participated in this project. It would be impossible to thank all the persons involved over the last years, but I know you know who you are (I mean "they", not you. They know who they are, not you. I mean, you know who you are, but "you" meant "them". You get it?). 

Anyways. I just want to thank you - all of you - ("them" + "you") for being there.

I won't be too long, but rest assured that I will keep you updated as everything moves forward. It's been a long journey so far, and today you gave me the confidence that, together, we will do a lot of really cool things in the years to come.

So keep sharing the love, and tell your partner that you are really not the only crazy person who backed this type project =)

PS: since today just feels like my very first day at Fontself, I wanted to share a little bit of the back story. The screenshot below shows the very first prototype of Fontself's font creation tool (plus my very first UI specifications on top of it), way back in January 2007. Its was coded by Marc using Flash (yes, we totally assume this choice =), was a pain in the ass to use, but a real feast for the mind. Enjoy:

PS2: oh, and if someone manages to find which version of Photoshop we used back in those days, I'll send her/him a printed copy of the screenshot (her/his partner will hopefully love this trophy over the chimney =)
